Why FuelCell Energy?

Reliable Baseload Power

Reliable, continuous power contributes to energy independence and security

FuelCell Energy’s Direct FuelCell® (DFC®) power plants provide continuous power around-the-clock. Reliable baseload power supports operations for a variety of different customer types that have critical electric power needs 24 hours per day.

Baseload fuel cell power generation helps to stabilize and supplement intermittent sources of power such as wind and solar which are limited by geography, weather, and space constraints.

Reliable on-site distributed generation from fuel cells contributes to energy independence and security, and ensures against potential losses from natural or man-made disruptions to the power grid.

Fuel cells can be likened to a battery in the sense that as long as fuel is supplied to the fuel cell, it will continually generate power. Compared to combustion-based power sources, fuel cells contain relatively few moving parts, simplifying their maintenance profile and minimizing total lifecycle operating cost.
