Combined heat and power (CHP)

Increase your efficiency with a fuel cell combined heat and power system and reduce your fuel costs and emissions.

Carbonate fuel cells operate at high temperatures to complete the chemical reaction during electricity generation. Combined heat and power systems recover exhaust heat as useful energy, boosting the plant's efficiency while reducing the cost and emissions of boilers.

Make your own heat with carbonate fuel cells

Carbonate fuel cells operate at approximately 1000°F, which is hot enough to convert methane to hydrogen (a process known as reforming) within the fuel cell stack. This process generates high-grade waste heat at around 700°F, which can be recovered as hot exhaust, hot water, or steam.
