Carbonate fuel cells are ideal for baseload power generation due to their high efficiency and combustion-free operation. The systems are capable of operating on natural gas, biogas, and natural gas/H2 blends of up to 40% H2 with no reduction in power output or efficiency. The system produces heat that can be used to generate hot water, high-pressure steam, or cooling to increase overall efficiency.

Our carbonate fuel cells are certified to operate off natural gas and digester gas under the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) standards, expediting the permitting process in certain clean air districts. Outside the state of California, the CARB 2007 certification independently validates the clean air profile of our plants.
